“These are images I have taken of myself and (mostly) shared electronically, sent as little digital files across the internet. They are “poor images” with meaningful value (Thanks Hito Steyerl) good for jokes, flirtations, and messages. To create these books, I had the images printed on photo paper, treated them like objects worthy of collection. I also only made 10 of each and have sold them only by word-of-mouth, and by request. This is my way of controlling (sort of) how they continue to circulate.” -AK

“Since the beginning of the Internet I’ve been “sharing” images of myself with friends and strangers. The proliferation of images, the erasing of boundaries between public and private: It’s enough to make me crazy if I think about it. But why should it? It’s not a bad thing, is it? Hasn’t the sharing of images brought me closer to others, and drawn others closer to me? Yes.” -AK
